Very often we were told that someone was knocked down by a car accident and the other party had no insurance coverage.
What do you do in such a situation?
In Malaysia there's such an organisation called Motor Insurers Bureau(MIB)where victims of accidents can claim some financial relief from it.
The payment is given on a compassionate basis and is absolutely up to the discretion of the Bureau.
There are certain rules to follow.
The claim must be made within three years from the date of accident.The lawyer concerned should also notify the Bureau about the case, he must do it within 30 days of filing the action and must furnish the bureau with all the relevant documents
This Bureau was formed out of an Agreement between the Minister of Transport and the Motor Insurers' Bureau of West Malaysia
